4 weather insulated my attic last summer. This winter, whenever there has been significant snow, I have experienced significant ice damming on one aspect of my roof. None of the other roof aspects show this and none of the neighborhood houses with similar exposures and aspects display this. For example this morning at sunup when the outside temperature was -7 C, snow was melting off the roof only on this slope! I had James from 4 weather come and look a couple of weeks ago. He said the problem is my eavestroughs! Eavestroughs are not causing snow melt at sub zero temperatures in the dark! He did not take the time to look inside the attic to determine what is the reason that snow is melting off this slope. I have no other recourse but to call a different company for a professional opinion.

I would highly recommend 4Weather Insulation & Venting. They gave us a quote and told us it would never be more than quoted for the work they were doing and in fact they blew in some extra insulation and didn't charge me. They were fast and efficient and cleaned up after themselves and were very courteous. They said they would finish up the venting when the snow has melted off the roof and I don't need to call - they will just let us know when they are coming out. All in all a great experience.

Thoroughly recommend these guys. Had a couple of companies out for quotes to fix our attic issues and, by far, James at 4 Weather was the best. He took the most time to look at the issues, and talked it all through to explain the what and why of the problem and the proposed solution - ensuring there was no ambiguity

My initial feeling was the quote would be high, as James was covering doing a lot more than some of the other companies said needed doing and yet, it came it MUCH cheaper!! ( and quoted on the spot too )

The guys who came and did the work were efficient and tidy - showed photos of the progress throughout the job leaving us confident that everything had been covered to the highest standard.

Nothing unexpected with the job and the invoice matched the quote to the cent - so all in all very happy.

Don't go with anyone else for your attic insulation needs, go with 4 weather.

We hired 4 Weather Insulation to remove wood chips and install new insulation in our home and we were very happy from the estimate to the job competition. The two friendly, polite men that came worked very hard to remove the chips and blew in new insulation in a timely manner. They even found and removed a very old piece of linoleum that had been probably up there since the house was built!
We were happy with the workmanship demonstrated and had them return to complete another job- solar vents! The new insulation has really paid off as our Enmax Home Energy Report states that we use less energy than efficient homes and much less than similar homes in the area.

I called this company for a quote on attic insulation top up. After leaving a few messages which were never returned, I finally got someone to answer the phone. I told her that I was not just shopping around and calling in a bunch of companies but rather that I was being selective as to who I wanted a quote from and they were my second. She said James would arrive at 9:30am tomorrow. I am also a contractor and put my job site on hold the next morning so that I could accommodate his visit. At 9:47 he called me and said that he would be a few minutes late. At 10:40 I called him and said that I need to go to my job site I can’t wait any longer. He said oh, I’m close by I’ll be there soon. When he showed up he put his business card on a table and said he wanted to do a thermal scan of the ceiling, I said sure and pointed out a visual problem area. After about 5 minutes he stated “this is the worst house I’ve ever seen” (in my own 15 year business I have never used that statement as an opening line to a customer). I told him I’m aware of the current condition in the attic as I also own a thermal gun. I said I have about an R20 value up there currently and I need a top up to code which is R50. He then asked do I have moisture on my windows, I said no, I have newer units and a new quality furnace. I wish he would have just did his thermal scan and got up into the attic for an inspection. Long story short, instead of collaborating with me on all the information that I had to offer him, he took offence and said “well you seem to think you know everything so I don’t need to be here”and aggressively grabbed his ladder and things all the while being loud and rude (my wife was listening from our bedroom). I politely told him that yes, you should just leave and not continue to act in such a manner. When he walked out he turned around and came back to my door, opened it and said “so here’s a question, what should you keep your humidifier set at” I looked at him, gave him the proper answer and he said nothing, he walked to his vehicle. This fellow goes to prove that you should not select a business by great sounding website reviews alone, nothing beats actually being able to have the person standing in front of you and vetting them during a conversation.

Very impressed with their work on the insulation and drywall installation of my garage. Their price was competitive and their craftsmanship exceeded expectations. All of the wiring including the garage door opener, LED lights and driveway camera were re-installed properly. I still have to tape and paint the drywall but the work looks very neat regardless. All the batt insulation was completed the first day. The ceiling blown in insulation and drywall installation was done on the second day.
