No tolls

As a former Instructor for the State of Alabama teaching aviation maintenance on both sides of the bay, I had to travel this system of engineering marvel and disgust many times.
To fix this would take five steps. The lights to traffic going out of the Bankhead tunnel should be timed so traffic does not stop at speed limits on the Mobil City side. It should have an overpass underpass so the traffic going to it from the bayside should not have to slow down.
The George C Wallace tunnels should not have a sharp turn at the Mobile City side. It should be a more gradual radius to reduce the bottle necking. All exits and entering of the overpass on the access to the George C Wallace tunnels within a mile should be removed to reduce the disruption of traffic that is just about to enter the tunnels.
And lastly for the future, a bypass should be considered going from approximately Theodore to Loxly.

The tour of the tunnel was really informative and interesting, and was a wonderful experience! The staff was very warm and inviting, and made the visit so enjoyable! I wish more people could have this opportunity!
