Worked with Marianne on my very first countertop purchase. Her help on deciding on product made the process so simple. Just got the countertop installed and it’s awesome. It was the finishing touch I needed for my remodel. Installers were very professional and nice. I would recommend to anyone.

Our carpet experience with Akel's was GREAT! The choosing and ordering process was seamless (thanks, Moose!) and the installation was quick an easy. Our new carpets look amazing. HIGHLY recommend anyone needing new carpet to make Akel's their one stop shop.

Trent at Akel's Carpet One in Maumelle was very knowledgeable and helpful in assisting me in the choice of carpet I needed for my condo. I was able to get the best carpet and premium pad for the best price. Trent's team that put in my carpet, David and another gentlemen were very thorough and professional and a pleasure to work with. I certainly appreciate Trent and all the others at Akel's, they went that extra mile for quality service and affordable prices. Thanks, Susan Y.

A company can only be as good as their people. When you are making a decision, like carpeting your entire home, two things of importance come into play. First, the cost, am I getting great value for the product. Second, can you trust the team that is selling and installing the product. The answer is yes to both questions at Akel's Carpet. I have known Paul Rhodes since the early 90's at Aikel's, he knows the carpet industry, 30 plus years! Then he sends out the A-Team to install our carpet. David and Pablo worked hard for two days and finished strong, attention to every details, especially clean up. We trusted them in our home, they were professional so look no further than Aikel's if you need flooring products.

They have a good selection but that's about the end of my satisfaction with Akel's.
For starters: They require full payment for materials and labor up front before they will start the job.
You have no recourse if the project doesn't go to plan. (ie: they don't show up, come back, clean up, quality work, etc, etc).
Materials and half of the labor up front would make sense but paying the full cost of labor up front puts a lot of weight on Trust.
If they don't trust you to pay when it's finished, maybe you shouldn't trust them to start.
For me, there was no follow up from Akel's after the $19,000 project was finished.
Second, they will assign you a project manager. If your project manager is out of the office on a day you need assistance with something they will give you the office hours of your project manager. Apparently they are not allowed to assist with another project managers project. We needed to return approximately $180 worth of quarter round and no one could do it but the project manager assigned to our project.
But that's just my experience....

Our first time visiting Akels on the Boulevard and so glad we did! Trent showed us what he had and worked a deal on some close out carpet for our bedroom replacement. It was beautiful and superior quality. Super nice guy to work with.
7/13/22- Yesterday, the installers came out, moved out our furniture, ripped up the old carpet & pad to haul off and installed our new flooring. They know their craft! They got straight to business. Excellent service in a timely manner. And our room looks beautiful! Their on my go-to list if/when we ever need flooring again.
Thanks Akel’s!

I am very happy with the carpet I purchased but not too thrilled with the service I recieved. I was told initially by Bill that the store had plenty of the carpet and we set install date. On the morning of install I received a call that they did not have enough carpet to do the whole job. I had to wait 4 more days to get install done. The installers worked quick but did not move all of the furniture back like I paid them to do. Also they left a section of my carpet not properly adhered to the floor so I am still waiting for that to be resolved.
Update. The floor not being adhered properly was never properly fixed and our salesman Bill did not refund a small portion of our payment as we were promised since install took so long. If your going to use Akels DO NOT USE THE ONE ON MAUMELLE BLVD.

We had an awesome experience working with Akels. The employees are so professional and diligent. Trent is amazing! He helped us find the best option for our family and walked us through the entire process from start to finish! He is very kind and patient! Bill is also amazing as he informed us on the best route of treatment and fixing our subfloors! This team is very knowledgeable and eager to help. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and highly recommended this company.

We used Akel's for our kitchen remodel and new cabinets. Tod Crites was the most helpful with the best customer service I have seen in a long time. Our home was built in 1925 so it came with challenges. Tod never batted an eye at all the changes we had to make. Mike the install person was incredible. All I can say is go visit and to check them out before you buy elsewhere. The cabinets are beautiful too.

I will NEVER purchase anything from Akel’s Design Center again. Stopped there on March 29th, 2021 to buy a 25 lb. bag of grout. They (Tod) said that they had it but I would have to pick it up across the street. I thought that was strange, but said ok. He then said he would get me a price. I had no idea how much it would be. I was only helping out a friend by going by there for the grout. After waiting for 15 minutes, he gave me a price of $31.39 plus tax, which come out to $34.53. I paid it and then he showed me where to go to pick it up. It was Amser Tile Company. I drove over there, showed the guy my receipt and he went to the back for the grout. As we were walking out, I asked him if I could have bought the grout there. He said yes I could have if I had wanted to. I asked him how much it would be if I had purchased it there. He said $17-$18 a bag. I was livid. Akel’s across the street had just charged me double that amount. I then called Tod back and told him how mad I was and said I wanted my money back. He said he would cancel the sale. I made sure to ask him would that put the money back on my card. He said yes. I then went back into Emser Tile and paid a total of $20.03 for the same bag. Akel’s Design Center and Emser Tile has a racket going on and it’s just plain and simply wrong. Both company’s are making money as they price gouge the customers. And this was only for one bag of grout! Can you image the amount of money they would have scammed by doing the same to a customer buying flooring for an entire house?

I have never had worst customer service than I have at Akel's while working with Stephen. He kept promising a drawing for cabinets and never being able to deliver one, even though he was able to generate a cost for me. He ordered the incorrect flooring and when I discovered this, AT THEIR WAREHOUSE, he never called to apologize. I got a text saying the correct flooring would be ordered. When the new flooring came in I specifically asked if they would be open for me to pick up the flooring on July 3rd and he flat out told me yes. I get to their store on the 3rd and they are closed. I try to call and received no response from him.
I will never recommend Akel's to anyone.

If I could give them zero stars I would. The people they have install the floors do a terrible job. Everything looked cheaply done after the install. The quarter round has big gaps between the wall and the trim. The transition pieces all came up and broke. The ones that remain are ones that we had to try and glue down ourselves. We have been asking for replacement transition pieces for months now and keep being told they haven’t come in yet. They are just giving us the run-around. Beware, don’t get installation with them - it will look horrible and then they will give you the run-around if you ask for anything after your install is done. I wish I could load the pictures on here to show how terrible it looked.

They are helpful and patient and have better quality products from full body porcelains to realistic rustic vinyl. William Feingold is very easy to work with and quite helpful. Also, they respect the military and offer a military discount which I always appreciate. We have never had them install for us as my husband and I do the work together which cuts costs greatly. If you have never installed a floor, YouTube it and you are good to go..well worth the time and effort. I have ordered several hundreds of feet worth of products and will continue to do business with this place in the future for over a thousand more sq ft.
Update:
In the past, regarding carpet sales, my husband and I had assumed that Lowe's had the best prices with a military incentive to boot. I'm happy to say I was incorrect. I was quoted a far better price on approximately 1200 sq ft of good quality plush carpeting. The price per square foot included a medium to higher grade pad as well as furniture moving. That's right! Furniture moving is included.. this means you don't have to break your back to prepare for the installation. The installers were professional, on time and did not damage any furniture in the process. The total cost beat our original quote from Lowe's by over $1000! Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy shopping at Lowe's very much but for flooring, Flooring Liquidators in Maumelle has become my go-to.
