AJ and Carlos took their time rapping each piece if furniture as if it was their furniture. They were pleasant, polite and professional. When I have more furniture to move and would definitely call Half Price Movers NJ asking for AJ and Carlos to move my furniture.

I needed help with moving all the furniture and heavy stuff to my new apartment on the second floor with no elevator and the 1/2 Price Movers team was very helpful. AJ, Eric, and CJ arrived on time, disassembled and packed the furniture carefully. They were cautious while handling and moved and assembled everything in no time. They were very helpful, hardworking, courteous and efficient and will definitely recommend to my friends.

Setting up an appointment and working with me on a price was easy. Communication in the beginning, good.
BUT! My walls AND doorway (framing/molding) were damaged. Not something I can just easily repair or clean up.
I filed a damage report minutes after it happened and NO ONE EVER GOT BACK TO ME.
Even the driver took photos for record.
I called 4 times somehow always missing the one person that handle damage claims.
I told them after a week, she STILL NEVER GOT BACK TO ME.
It's been over a month.
Nothing reimbursed, no contact with me at all.
This could have been easily avoided but one of the movers told the other their cleared of the door when the crunching sound made it clear he wasn't!
EDIT: & to the owners response.. YOUR COMPANY has my contact information and claim that was filed. YOUR EMPLOYEE was supposed to get back to me 1-2 days after the claim was filed. My services were completed on Wednesday, on Friday I called and was told the person that handles claims isn't in on Fridays. I called Monday, again was told she wasn't available. This went on all week until I was fed up and asked for a call ASAP. NOTHING. I hope people take the time and read this review and move on to the next company.

I recently had the pleasure of having Linda help me with organizing my out-of-state move, and I must say, her service was outstanding. From the very first phone conversation, Linda had a genuine eagerness to assist. She listened to my needs and ensured that every question I had was answered, but what truly stood out was her extensive knowledge about the company and its offerings, which instilled a sense of trust and confidence in her recommendations. I was adamant about what I expected in using their service, and believe me, ½ Price Movers did not disappoint. I rarely give reviews, but I have to say a special thank you to my movers, Joe, Ian, and Justin for their exceptional work. Their professionalism was unmatched, and they exceeded my expectations. They are extremely hard workers who genuinely care and dedicate themselves in ensuring that they offer the best service possible. I honestly cannot say enough about these guys. Their willingness to go above and beyond to address any concerns I had made the entire experience seamless and stress-free, which was a relief because I am an extremely meticulous person. I absolutely recommend Linda, Joe, Ian, and Justin to anyone in need of moving solutions, as their dedication to providing top-notch service is truly commendable. Thank you all. It's been about a month since I gave my initial review and I'm disappointingly writing to rescind it, because I feel compelled to add this additional piece of information. After using this company for myself and feeling pleased, I decided to refer my mother as well. This is where the nightmare began. When the guys arrived at her place we were told that we would be charged double for things that were on the list and discussed on the initial phone call when we were given the quote. I tried reaching the office and no one picked up our calls, however, they were able to speak with the head mover, Joseph, who relayed information to us back and forth. After arriving in Florida, I not only noticed that both mine and my mother's furnitures had numerous damages, but we were unable to find the screws for all of our bedroom sets. We called a number of times to find out where the screws were and was told by their call reps, including Linda who I initially raved about, that they would give us a call back that we still haven't received. Because of this, we were forced to purchase new screws and order hardware from the manufacturer to put our beds together. Also, upon unpacking, I also noticed that I was missing a very important wall art that was quite expensive and sentimental. When I discussed this with Linda, I was told that they couldn't be held accountable. I'm writing to make others aware, so that you don't make the mistake of using or referring this company like I did. Do yourselves a favor and stay far away.

If you are reading this review, it is probably because you are considering a move and are trying to select a moving company. You may see a lot of positive reviews here (I did when I did my diligence). However, all may not be as it seems.
Here is my experience with ½ Price Movers (½ PM).
Before getting into this, let me say I sent a more detailed version of this write up to ½ PM on January 15th. They responded that same day with an e-mail containing the following two words - “thank you”. They never responded again. I replied to their response on January 29th (waited a bit figuring I would give them some time to run this up the chain of command). However, no further reply would be forthcoming.
So here is my experience.
We hired ½ PM in May of 2023 for a move of the contents of our home contents in June. Because our new home was not going to be ready until Nov of 2023, we had ½ PM move our belongings to a number of storage units at a nearby storage facility. Four guys showed up at our house. A driver and three helpers. We loved the helpers (not so much the driver/boss). Read on…
Fast forward to Nov. We closed on our new home, but because we had numerous contractors lined up begin projects in the new house, we did not plan to hire ½ PM right away as we needed our house to remain largely clear of boxes and other stuff while this work was being done.
However, we did need a handful of key things (among them being our kitchen refrigerator and mattresses for a few beds). So, on the Sat after closing, I rented a uhaul truck and my son-in-law and I went to get those items. At the storage units, upon moving things out of the way to access the refrigerator, we noticed the front had been severely scratched from the move from our home to storage. Please see attached pictures.
You might ask yourself, can he prove ½ PM caused this damage? To that I would say, “wouldn’t their guys have flagged scrapes of this magnitude before touching the unit so as to be clear these were pre-existing?”
Second, what follows below shows a level of care that is not consistent with the standards to which I think any reputable mover would hold themselves to.
In addition to the refrigerator and mattresses, we needed to find some boxes (mostly kitchen items – plates and glasses and silverware) so we could live in our home. To this end, I returned to our storage units on a few days later to try and locate those boxes.
The movers packed many of the boxes into one of our 10x15 units – almost floor to ceiling. I remember cautioning them as things were being moved into the storage units not to stack the boxes too high (on top of one another) since the lower boxes might not be able to handle the weight of the upper boxes – after all they were just boxes. I was told that the driver was the “master of loading storage units” (yes in those words) and all would be fine. I dropped it figuring they must know what they are doing.
The attached images show what I found after opening and the unit containing most of our boxes (and cleared away some boxes in the front).
Note that many of these crushed boxes are clearly labeled FRAGILE (with big red stickers on them)!
In my letter of Jan 15th, I asked ½ PM movers what they were willing to do to make things right? Would they order replacement doors for our refrigerator? The broken things we figured we could live without.
At the same time, I wondered whether I should post my experience here in a google review? After all, I selected ½ PM based upon the overwhelmingly positive reviews I read on google. Might others who are in the market for movers be better served by a more balanced assessment on the move experience of others who came before them?
As I said above, I wrote to ½ PM to give them an opportunity to make things right. However, other than the two-word “thank you” reply to my letters, it has been crickets ever since. So, I decided to post this review.

This is the second time we hired 1/2 Price Movers and once again they excelled. This time we had AJ, Shak, and Steve and they were AWESOME! They were professional, reliable, hard working, patient, and super nice guys! It was a long, hard day and they were nonstop dedicated to the job so much so that I made them take a break to eat. An added plus was how good they were with our dog Dexter. Truly, just overall great movers and we highly recommend you request these three musketeers. We will refer them and the company to anyone.

Big Rich and his crew (Petey, Q and Derrick) were a God send - they took the stress out from the moving, loading and unloading process. They were extremely professional, respectful, very pleasant and jovial in their demeanor and darn good at their job! Big Rich managed the entire process very smoothly and made sure that all the boxes, furniture and the contents of the entire truck were packed, transported and unloaded very efficiently and in the best way possible. They accommodated all our requests during the moving process (including a change in time) and very respectful to all our family members. I would highly recommend Half Price Movers and especially Big Rich's crew for any of your moves!
